Back in April, we ran a sneak peek of Scorpios, the new project by Design Hotels in Mykonos. We found the rustic chic digs too good to be true, but it has finally opened its doors and it's got us reaching for our passports.
While Design Hotels is known for its gorgeous flight of boutique and luxury hotels, you won't be finding any rooms at Scorpios. Situated at walking distance from the San Giorgio Mykonos hotel, Scorpios is a playground of sorts that pulls together a beach, restaurant, and cultural hub.
Anchoring the sprawling seaside lair is a two-storey house surrounded by open-air terraces. Settle down with a book on one of the low-slung sofas or soak up the breeze on one of the many rope hammocks. Inspired by 1960s Greek glamour, the decor within is a pure bohemian-luxe retreat. The on-site boutique within also stocks such artisanal offerings as organic damiana-distilled mezcal from gem&bolt and leather goods from Caravana Montaecristo; perfect for picking up that little souvenir that isn't a gaudy keychain.
Hungry? The restaurant at Scorpios spills straight out onto a terrace overlooking the sea. Chill out to ambient music spun by guest DJs as you dig into the restaurant's Greek-Asian offerings.
