#TravelTuesday: Dive into this sky pool surrounded by the Dolomites mountain range
Up in the air
A bigger splash
Still swooning over the inifinity pool at Marina Bay Sands? Here's news for you. The family-run Hotel Hubertus at Valdaora, Italy, has built a glass-bottomed sky pool that not only affords views of the lush valley below, but of the surrounding UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites mountain range hugging the property.
Floating like a rock over the hotel's new accomodation wing, the 25-metre-long cantilevered pool designed by award-winning noa* architects makes a bigger splash with anthracite-coloured stone, ensuring it blends into the landscape to appear more like a mountain lake than the man-made architectural masterpiece it is.
Supported by native larch tree trunks, the pool serves as a point of interest between the hotel's new and old accomodation wings, giving guests much to look forward to after a day of slow hikes and exhilarating ski-action in the Italian province of South Tyrol.
