Some of Paris's most luxurious addresses boast a view of the Eiffel Tower, undoubtedly the city's shining beacon of glory and inspiration for many a souvenir stand knick-knack. The only thing that can trump an unobstructed view of this iconic landmark is the chance to live inside the tower itself. Sure, you won't get to behold it, but you'll get a bird's eye view of the city's grand boulevards and buildings that have existed since the time of Napoleon Bonaparte.
How is it even possible to set up camp at this metallic structure? Well, the good folk over at vacation rental site HomeAway will be constructing a temporary apartment sited within the Eiffel Tower itself. French interior designer Benoit Leleu has been summoned to design a swank pad complete with bedrooms and a lounge area backed with what else but views of the Grand Palais, Sacre Coeur on Montmartre, and the Seine River.
From 23 June to 8 July, four lucky winners — along with five friends — will be chosen to check into this unusual apartment, an experience that comes with a gourmet dinner for all and breakfast with quite possibly the best views of the city. The catch? You'll have to head over to HomeAway to answer this question: "What would you do if the Eiffel Tower Apartment was all yours for the night?". Time to get creative. The stakes are high.
