Drones just never seem to get old. But this time around, Aussie company loT group has taken the bulky machine and scaled it right down to the size of a regular waterbottle. This tiny wonder, dubbed the 'ROAM-e', is small for a reason — it's meant to be your personal selfie stick. Unlike the unwieldy selfie sticks available right now, this little fella doesn't require you to hold it up. Once it's tethered to your smartphone, facial recognition technology enables it to follow you around like your personal Ron Galella. How did it take so long for something as brilliant as this to emerge on the market?

Beyond au naturel selfies, the nimble device can also capture the perfect panoramic shot with you in it, of course. Just think of the possibilities: mosh pit action at Glastonbury, your best mate's wedding, and equestrian expeditions in Patagonia — all captured on a 5 megapixel CMOS sensor. With its dual-axis collapsible blades, the ROAM-e is travel friendly, too. At the rate technology is evolving, it looks like selfie sticks might very well be a thing of the past.
