Originally conceived as a military vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has since risen through the ranks to become a luxury sports utility car capable of tackling off-road terrain. While its key design features remain, the 2016 incarnation of the car sees welcome upgrades to its engine, interior, body, and other elements.
The car's 2016 makeover starts with the body. Expect it to be widened by 100mm. With more space, a revamped dashboard will have more than enough room to accommodate a touchpad command system and a larger monitor.
Swanky new interiors aside, one major change to the G-Wagen will give environmentalists something to cheer about: the car is set to lower its carbon emissions with the addition of an eco-friendly stop/start function for its upsized 4.0 litre V8 engine.
A new colour package rounds up this batch of changes. Hues such as solar beam, tomato red, and even a shocking lime green are available for drivers who prefer more colour in their ride.
