The rumours are true. According to reports by The Straits Times, the Singapore edition of the lauded Michelin Guide is set to launch in the later part of 2016. Michelin, the French purveyor of gastronomic guides, has teamed up with the Singapore Tourism Board and Robert Parker Wine Advocate to put Singapore's culinary scene on the international dining map.
When it comes to Asia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Japan are no strangers to the guide. Singapore is however the first South-east Asian country to welcome the guide. Singapore's Michelin guide is slated to be a bilingual edition featuring text in both English and Chinese.
Michelin's international group of trusted inspectors will be involved in Singapore's inaugural edition of the guide. Chefs all across Singapore will no doubt be on high alert.
