The mercury might be on the rise, but we'll gladly brave the heat for food festival Savour Gourmet when it returns from 12 to 15 May. This time around, the fifth instalment of Savour Gourmet is making itself out to be quite the crowd pleaser even before the festival has kicked off. You didn't hear it wrong — the good folk behind Savour have dropped the admission fee, which means you'll have more money in the bank to splurge on food, glorious food.
This time around, Savour's turning the spotlight on Singapore's emerging culinary talent. Expect to be tempted by over 30 dishes (priced at $6 or $12) from young chefs powering restaurants such as Artichoke, Gattopardo, and Labyrinth. While there are crowd-pleasing dishes the likes of Iberico pork jowl and lobster pasta, the fun truly begins with creations that wouldn't look out of place on a Buzzfeed listicle: Keep your eyes peeled for chendol xiao long baos from Labyrinth, foie-ffles (corn waffles harbouring foie gras butter) from Artichoke, and Saveur Art's egg confit dish sided with truffled potato mousseline, macadamia nuts, and brown butter.
Jason's Gourmet Market will also be on site to dish up plenty of oysters, Miyazaki wagyu, and cool licks of lavendar ice cream sourced directly from Hokkaido.
