The Marmalade Pantry outlet you may not have heard of
It's no secret we love Marmalade Pantry (who doesn't?). In fact, we enjoy dining there so much that we even took to collaborating with their pastry chefs to create our very own Buro cake.
However, snagging a table at their popular ION Orchard outlet can be tricky at times. One simply does not shore up without a reservation. Times like these, we head over to their sister restaurant sited within Oasia Hotel. Located in Novena, the outlet which opened in February this year is a mere two-station train ride away from their flagship at ION Orchard. Thankfully, the menus at both outlets are identical, allowing you to tuck into your favourite dishes — sans the usual crowd.
If you haven't been to Marmalade Pantry in a while, their updated menu gives you good reason to revisit the restaurant. Lobster rolls make their appearance on the menu in burger form, featuring chunks of lobster amped up with tobiko and miso mayonnaise. If you're watching your calories, opt for the spinach and kale salad that also features roasted macadamias, juicy grapes, and fresh basil that gives the dish a herbaceous lift. Quinoa, the superfood that never seems to grow old, is given a colourful toss with beetroot, grilled courgette, orange, and capers.
No meal at Marmalade Pantry is complete without their good old sticky date and toffee pudding. But to satisfy bite-sized pleasures, nothing quite hits the spot like one of their famous cupcakes. Our pick? The red velvet cupcake topped with coconut cream cheese frosting.
