French sporting giant Decathlon opens its first megastore in Singapore
I'll have one of everything, thank you
Couch potatoes have no reason to Netflix and chill no more. Come 16 January, French sporting giant Decathlon will swing open the doors of their 35,000 square feet megastore at Technopark@Chai Chee, giving Singaporeans access to over 95,000 sporting gear and equipment. While the location isn't exactly central, the store is set to be the largest Decathlon store in the region.
You certainly won't find any swag from Nike or Adidas here. The 40-year-old French company is famed for the innovative products they push out under their 20 in-house brands. With dedicated research and development teams on the ground, the company prides itself on pushing out quality items that don't break the bank. By running 23 production centres globally, Decathlon is able to price their products at 20 to 40 per cent less than other sporting retailers.
For those who prefer to test the product before making a purchase, testing areas within the store allow you to try your hand at table tennis, mini golf, and even cycling.
Cyclists will also be delighted to find a bicycle repair workshop onsite which will service both Decathlon bikes and bikes from other brands.
Not keen to head out to Chai Chee? Make your purchases via the Decathlon e-commerce site instead. Customers who make online purchases can also choose to pick up the items at the store if they wish.
