Take a look inside BMW's 3.0 CSL Hommage R
Car enthusiasts gathering at the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, North America, can look forward to the international premiere of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R, a concept car that celebrates not only the anniversary of the German brand, but also the success of the BMW 3.0 CSL since it first launched in 1975.
With technical innovation and improvements made to the original design, the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R aims to create a more efficient relationship between the car and the driver. A Head-Up Display delivers driving related information, making it easy for the driver to keep his eyes on the road while ensuring that everything else is running smoothly.
The interior of the car features a large carbon-fibre seat that will allow the driver to react faster and more effectively as he is able to get a physical feel of the car. With fanned-out quilting on the white seat, a pop of colour is added with BMW's signature stripes that are used on the six-point safety harness. Teaming up with Puma, BMW enhances the connection between car and driver to design a racing suit that lights up to show the progress of information. Simply place your hands on the steering wheel and watch the illuminated piping come to life.
While the interior focuses on the relationship, the exterior of the racecar looks to showcase the power, athleticism, elegance and muscular presence of the model. Sporting a prominent rear spoiler, powerful wheel arches, distinctive air deflector and lightweight construction, the aerodynamics of the car takes things one notch up from the original design that it is based on.
Referencing their record of success, the graphics on the car feature the number 25 on the hood and doors. A perfect way to celebrate the achievements of BMW motor racing, the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R is sure to get the attention of car enthusiasts around the world.
