Hit the reset button at this yoga retreat led by Jessica Sinclair
Mind & Body
Jessica Sinclair was diagnosed with Scoliosis as a child, but the abnormal curvature of her spine did not stop her from living an active life. The vivacious 33-year-old has endured marathons, competed in obstacle course races, and flexed her muscles in the realm of martial arts. Today, many in the yogi circle know her as the founder of The Yoga Mandala, a boutique yoga studio on Telok Ayer Street.
Even though her yoga journey began four years ago, Jessica has made enormous strides in her practice. Besides being a certified yoga teacher trainer, she has gone on to become a certified energy healer practitioner, all of which she puts to good use for an upcoming yoga retreat at The Andaman, a Luxury Collection Resort in Langkawi.
From 22 to 25 September 2016, Jessica will lead guests through sunrise and sunset yoga sessions against the idyllic backdrop of Datai Bay. In between mats, those who need a little more tender loving care can opt for a mid-afternoon reiki session under the healing hands of Jessica. Ekraj Gajurel, The Andaman's dedicated yoga instructor, will also lead participants through pranayama classes and a lesson in mindful meditation — all of which are crucial in shaping your practice.
Thankfully, this isn't one of those retreats that puts your body on a full-on detox. Yes, there are healthy snacks and juices to graze on, but nourishment in these luxe abodes also come in the form of island-inspired dinners and a closing meal at Jala, the resort's fine dining seafood restaurant.
