The best street style from Milan Fashion Week FW17
You haven't experienced real fashion until you go to fashion week and you haven't experienced fashion week until you're invited to Milan Fashion Week. Whether you're a Gucci girl at heart, a Jeremy Scott groupie or here for the fuzz and fantasy at Fendi, you've come to the right place to belong. Milan is fashion's borderless hub, where excess will never be called obscene, where there is no place for boundaries or rules but plenty for dreamers and sartorial misfits. You'll see. Welcome one, welcome all.
DAY 6: MOODY TUNES
The heavens opened up on the final day of Milan Fashion Week, delivering heavy rainfall and one amazing show from Giorgio Armani on a grey sky morning. Speaking of which, there is nothing sombre about the 50 shades. Run them with wardrobe staples; tan loafers, aviator sunglasses and deconstructed knits keep things low key but not lowbrow.

DAY 5: SMALL TALK
In a delightfully bizarre case of coincidence, on the fifth day of Milan fashion week and hours before Dolce & Gabbana sent society's biggest names down the runway with their mini-mes in tow, style mavens populated the streets with fun-sized companions of their own. Note that these are not your run-of-the-mill mini bags. The itsy-bitsy carriers (can we call them cookie carry-ons?) may be diminutive in size but they make up for it in spades in personality.

DAY 4: DENIM DAZE
Like hard liquor, denim is one of those fabrics that have no expiration date. Rethink proportions in 2017 — hems should either be elevated or sweeping the sidewalks (#mycuprunnethover). A roomy jacket is evergreen, yes, but the fun doesn't have to end there. Elvis eyewear, punk corsetry or a good swath of pink shakes things up nicely. Scroll for more suggestions.

DAY 3: RUN WITH IT
Brands the likes of Chloé, Gucci and Palm Angels have done well in bringing the tracksuit back from fashion exile. Heck, if we had to pick the most unlikely collaboration of the current retail season, Vetements x Juicy Couture's velour renditions take the crown. See how the sporting staple is winning on the streets.

DAY 2: INTERIOR INSPIRATION
One of the best things about fashion is that the beauty of past decades is never truly forgotten, often inspiring how today's modern threads are woven. Just like the style troopers in Milan, never underestimate the sartorial power of your favourite furnishings. Behold, haute upcycling at its finest.

DAY 1: THE COVER UP
What's big, bright and born to shine? When it comes to this season's larger-than-life outerwear, the only thing to fear is fear itself. Is it absolutely insane? Depends on who you ask. Does it run the risk of swallowing you whole? Perhaps. Is it going to be the most fabulous thing ever? Hell yes.
