Just like Pitti Uomo, Milan's street style action packs a punch when it comes to the colour palette. However, unlike the haphazard mass of hues in Florence, the fashion capital's seasoned purveyors of style filter tones on ensembles far more stringently. It's all about reaching an equilibrium: Cornflower blue is complemented by just a dash of fuschia and jade, while a seafoam green canvas lends itself to a smattering of violet.
Apart from sightings of industry heavyweights (think Nick Wooster and Anna Della Russo), Milan on its first day also brought to the fore the art of integrating unexpected details to set off already eye-catching outfits. That massively cropped denim vest is certainly not intuitive, and neither is adopting an all-round blue colour scheme with an outfit made up of at least five separates. Watch and learn.
