Remember when Elle Woods declared, "Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed"? No offense to her blonde ambitions but that notion is so 2001 it really was 2001. This season, consciously couple tangerine with hunter green, but do so sparingly. Think a pop on the sleeves, splashes on a bag, and a touch on the lips.

Sometimes, all it takes to turn heads is to weave an unexpected element into your outfit — no matter how small these details might seem. Do like the style cognoscenti and pair white gym socks with stilettos, or a band shirt — not a plain white tee — under a modest slip.
