@MusingMutley: The best street style from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2016
What's the difference between Australian style and Singapore style?
Having grown up in the land Down Under — before moving to Singapore almost five years ago — I've been asked this question a countless number of times. And, with the benefit of hindsight, plus the luxury of time to think this over, this is my conclusion: Australians dress to accentuate their natural beauty, often picking up local or independent brands that are easy and effortless; while Singaporeans dress to accentuate their status and are more in tune with global trends, preferring luxury labels and statement bags. As with all things style, there is no right or wrong; there's only different.
Given that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2016 (that is, #MBFWA) just wrapped over the weekend, there's no better time to celebrate (and maybe even pick up some pointers) on how to achieve that famous tousled, carefree Aussie look. And what better way to do so, than to see what (and how) the girls wore their local labels outside the Australian Fashion Week shows in Sydney. Scroll down, take inspiration, and enjoy.
