Step into 庄 Zhuang, Home of Singapore Designers
Habitat to the homegrown
These pair of still, threadless mannequins, hinged on an open-cubicle varnished in the same hue of simplicity are the first thing your eyes would dart to when entering 庄 Zhuang, Home of Singapore Designers — the flicker of light stirring a fluorescent play of translucent garbs on the otherwise lifeless twins does command visual attention. This art installation, monikered Installation Lucid, is a project of multi-disciplinary artist Daryl Goh in hand with Epson Singapore to celebrate fluidity, adaptation and, local designers.
In collaboration with Textile and Fashion Federation (Taff) and Tangs, the space is dedicated to support homegrown designers. In 庄 Zhuang's retail station, local fashion notables — the likes of Frontrow by Klarra, Mash Up, Revasseur, Ying The Label and Desti Saint — are curated alongside a series of lifestyle collectibles from Supermama, Desinere, Hinika by Jarrod Lim, Love SG, Now & Then, The Farm Store, The Little Drom Store, Hush Candle and Code Deco.
Swing by 庄 Zhuang every now and then to discover more local labels that will be added throughout the pop-up's seven-month duration. The eclectic picks and treats are sure to satiate your wardrobe and curiousity.
"With the support of the Singapore Tourism Board, Taff is able to showcase Singapore designers prominently on Orchard Road, at Tangs, one of Singapore's most iconic department stores no less. Taff is proud to be on the forefront of bringing fashion and technology together, in exciting collaborations and partnerships," says Lynette Lee, CEO of Taff.
庄 Zhuang: Home of Singapore Designers is located at Tangs at Tang Plaza, Level 4. Opens now until mid April 2017.
