Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and founder of CR Fashion Book was the original street style icon, commanding the scene in her signature monochrome ensembles: A pencil skirt paired with a blouse or sweater, with four-inch stilettos thrown in the mix. Fast forward a decade and the French editor's long-standing personal style is now condensed neatly in her second collection for Uniqlo.
Like the previous fall/winter range, the spring/summer 2016 collection offers a selection of sharp, pencil skirts, power jackets and must-have jumpers in black, white and safari green —all tailored to subtly bring focus to those feminine curves.
Take heed the style maven's sartorial proclivity and embrace the power of classics — a form-fitting midi skirt and a jumper after all, will still cut an elegant silhouette another decade down the road. And, unless you've scored a spot behind bars on a certain Netflix Original comedic drama where orange is the order of the day, black is still most definitely the new black by Roitfeld's books.
The Carine Roitfeld x Uniqlo collection launches at the Uniqlo boutique located at Ion Orchard and online here on 22 January.
