Having seen sell-outs of its major designer collaborations, it's an aptly calculated step for Uniqlo to house its first global flagship outlet in the city's youth-packed Orchard Central. The 2,700 square feet space, which spans three storeys, will be the largest in the region. It's set to showcase the brand's full assortment of universal LifeWear line-up with 300 digital displays — making it the highest number anywhere in the world — and a range of 350 mannequins that matches Uniqlo Ginza's global flagship store in Tokyo. Other highlights include a Uniqlo T-shirt (UT) station featuring exclusive UT designs from the fan-favourite designer collaborations the likes of Olympia Le-Tan, Bruno Munari and Pharrell Williams.

A nod to the label's vision of sharing creativity, style and culture of a modern Singapore with the rest of the world, the area will boast the concept 'U+S and The World'. Keep your eyes peeled for the opening campaign which will transform the hoarding around the store's construction site into an urban canvas, to be filled in by the local community. Kicking off a long-term collaboration with homegrown creatives, a special corner will invite customers to check out original in-store music from record label Syndicate, to totes illustrated by artists John Fan and Might Yellow.

Uniqlo Orchard Central opens on 2 September.
