Repetto's collab with this Asian artist brings forth the graphic ballerinas you've been waiting for
The best ballerina flats maker in the world joins forces with a promising Japanese illustrator to create the shoe of the month

Watanabe Mayumi may have started her career in 2007 showcasing her illustrations, oil paintings and sculptures in art exhibitions as well as festivals in and out of Japan, but the 35-year-old has never been in favour of boxing herself into any single category of expressionist creation. Five years after her debut, she released a visual book titled 'Onomatohair'. Five years after that, she once again flexed her paint brushes beyond the canvas, this time in the world of fashion.

With the help of Repetto, she adapted her "Send in the Clowns" artworks she showed in Hong Kong onto two exclusive Cendrillon ballerinas; her carefree childlike drawings printed on the leather and the insole of the flats, making each pair a work of art on their own whether as a collector's item, or when worn on the wearer's feet.
