The chief creative officer's first order of the day at his American appointment
We all know the power of social media by now, so what better way to get word out then on Instagram? Straight to the phones of eight million followers, Calvin Klein has announced the launch of a new line — Calvin Klein by Appointment — which comes as the first taste of Raf Simons' tenure at the American empire. Adding to its portfolio of a dozen odd lines (most notably Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Sport) is an appointment only made-to-measure service tailored by hand and based out of New York City — an improvement upon its previously exclusive "celebrity by-appointment service". "Calvin Klein is not only about iconic underwear and jeans — it's about so much more," Raf Simons expressed via the brand's Instagram. "Calvin Klein by Appointment 1-14 is very much about celebrating the American woman and American fashion." Calling on faces such as actress Millie Bobby Brown, model Lineisy Montero and musician-model Jamie Bochert to front the 14 look collection (also known as CKBA 1-14), what's larger than this is perhaps the new chapter that Calvin Klein has officially unfurled — one that's primed to rock the Big Apple and the fashion world with a mutineer like Simons leading the charge, who's set to debut his first ready-to-wear collection at February's New York Fashion Week.
