Net-a-Porter has launched luxury Polish designer Magda Butrym’s autumn/winter 2016 collection, offering a dose of attitude and nostalgia. Straight from Warsaw, the eponymous label spotlights handicraft in its collections. From hand-plaited leathers to hand-woven textiles and embroidered ornaments, the pieces are fetchingly imbued with Butrym’s personal touch.

“Magda Butrym is very much about combining modern fashion design with traditional craftsmanship and a lot of this can be seen in the collection, pieces like hand-pleated skirts are timeless staples,” says founder and creative director, Magda Butrym.

Inspired by romantic punk and London subculture Blitz Kids, the collection is a distinctive play on dichotomy with its use of both tough leathers and Victorian ruffles. Think Courtney Love meets Janis Joplin — floral intarsia knits, structured blazers, slinky sequinned numbers and leather mini skirts.

Lisa Aiken, retail fashion director at Net-a-Porter says, “Magda Butrym already has a strong following amongst influencers who love her feminine pieces with a fashionable edge. Her collection is the perfect combination of bohemian meets rock and roll. Each piece is a stand out item for the modern woman’s wardrobe and demonstrates her penchant for handcrafted detail.”

Magda Butrym autumn/winter 2016 is now available at Net-a-Porter with prices starting from $675.
