Inside the first Michael Kors flagship store in Singapore
Inducting 6,957 square feet of limestone and warm wood expanse to its retail portfolio just yesterday, the new Michael Kors boutique located at Mandarin Gallery marks a couple of firsts for the American fashion and lifestyle giant. The inaugural flagship in Singapore is also their largest store in Southeast Asia, and the only standalone in the region to offer its menswear line. Outfitted in cool neutrals, the ground floor first and foremost pays homage to the people's favourite: A sprawling range of leather bags and accessories from the Michael Michael Kors label — flanking walls and tucked in open drawers for your ultimate shopping pleasure.
Venture further in, and the Michael Kors Collection awaits. Both ready-to-wear and leather goods (sumptuous bags, double-bonded with suede for that extra luxe touch) catered to the lady who appreciates the finer things in life. A cosy footwear nook and a display of the brand's wearable technology (Michael Kors Access watches) are the next must-do stops before heading up to the dedicated men's floor.
Above, the menswear range offers casualwear, bags, shoes and accessories, converging around the second storey's centrepeice — a pool table. Perfect for lads who are speedier shoppers than their better halves. Sink a couple balls, dial up the fun, and ditch the dreaded boyfriend couch. Here's a tip ladies: Ease your man in with the promise of shooting some pool, and they might just be the ones to suggest a shopping trip the next time around.
The Michael Kors flagship store is located at Mandarin Gallery, #01-12/13 and #02-13.
