London-based designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida have taken top honours as winners of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.

Held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, the designer duo were awarded the prize by some of the industry's most influential designers — Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière, Riccardo Tisci, Marc Jacobs, Raf Simons and Phoebe Philo to name but a few — along with powerful editors and critics such as Cathy Horyn and Vogue China's editorial director Angelica Cheung. Actress Natalie Portman was also on hand to present them with the award.

In addition to a year-long mentorship program from a dedicated team within LVMH, the pair also walk away with €300,000 in prize money.

The last winner of the prize was Thomas Tait in 2014, with designers the likes of Shayne Oliver from Hood by Air, Simone Rocha and Suno having been previous participants.
