As we look forward to the LV Series 3 Exhibition opening in Singapore this Saturday 28 November at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, we take a deeper look at the fall/winter 2015 collection that inspired the event — as told through the lens of the campaign's renowned photographers.
Shot by Bruce Weber and Juergen Teller, the Louis Vuitton FW15 campaign consists of a series of images fronted by actresses, models and new industry faces that narrate a story of diversity — both of personalities and ethnicities — while, of course, highlighting the brand's spirit of innovation and travel heritage.
Before you visit the exhibition this weekend, here's a look at the FW15 collection as told through the evocative visual language of both Weber and Teller.
PHOTOGRAPHER: BRUCE WEBER
Born in rural Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Bruce Weber is reknowned for his influential fashion photography since the 1980s. The 69 year-old American photographer has shot numerous ad campaigns and has published more than 15 books featuring his iconic all-American aesthetic.
Shoot location: A private airstrip in Miami. Weber used black-and-white film to showcase a cinematic narrative that highlights the collection's abstract graphics and the maison's heritage.
Models: Danish model, Freja Beha Erichsen; Dutch model, Rianne van Rompaey; and German model, Julia Merkelbach.
PHOTOGRAPHER: JUERGEN TELLER
German photographer, Juergen Teller, is a frequent name on the lips of the fashion cognoscenti. Known for his raw photography work that blurs the line between personal and commercial, Teller has shot the likes of Kate Moss, Winona Ryder and Charlotte Rampling. He is also well-known in the industry for his provocative fashion ad campaigns and is most recognised for this long-time collaboration with Marc Jacobs.
Shoot location: A sculptor's utopian home near Barcelona, Spain. A reflection of Ghesquière's interest for modernist architecture.
The models: The maison's latest muse, Alicia Vikander, along with American actress, Jennifer Connelly; Ethiopian model, Liya Kebede; Australian-born Chinese model, Fernanda Ly (who made her LV runway debut at the FW15 show); and American model, Angel Rutledge (who also made her exclusive runway debut for LV's SS15 show).
Pick up your complimentary FW15 campaign posters in three Louis Vuitton stores in Singapore: The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Takashimaya and ION Orchard.
