Dropping news of collaborations on Instagram seems to be the norm now. Balmain and H&M did it at the AMAs, and now, Opening Ceremony has just let out of the bag what could be the greatest sneaker collaboration ever: Vans is collaborating with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami on a capsule collection.
Known as the 'Warhol of Japan', Murakami's Pop Art meets Japanese anime style has taken the world by storm. Some of his most famous motifs are used in this exclusive upcoming collection: Smiling flowers, skulls, and even a self-portrait are applied on sneakers, skating decks, and T-shirts. It's an art connoiseur/sneakerhead's wildest dream come true.
The Vans x Murakami collection will be available online at Opening Ceremony on 27 June.
