Go back to basics with the Coach Saddle bag
The end of 2015 marks the 75th anniversary of Coach and the American luxury label has reimagined a classic icon to honour the momentous occasion. Pulling out the Saddle bag from their vintage archives, Coach has given this timeless arm candy a modern update and is the first of four re-designed icons that will be launched this year.
The history of the Saddle bag began in 1972 when Bonnie Cashin, founding designer of Coach, created a pouch bag which became known as the original No. 9170 Classic Pouch. With its simple and functional design, the Classic Pouch became an instantaneous success and has since catapulted to iconic status. Revisiting this signature bag to give it a new lease of life, Coach has re-made the No. 9170 into the Saddle bag which retains the minimalist elements of its predecessor — but upgraded with a contemporary colour palette and luxuriously refined leather.
Crafted with expert hands, the Saddle bag is fashioned with the same attention to details as the original. But this is where the similarities end: The present-day version is available in two sizes with an extensive colour palette. The interior contains a unique 75th anniversary Storypatch — a special embossment that identifies the Saddle bag as a Coach icon and tells of its heritage. Come be a part of this jubilant significance with Coach and make an old classic your new favourite.
Available in limited quantities at Coach Wisma Atria from December.
The Saddle bag will be officially launched at other Coach boutiques starting March 2016.
