Piro-chan and Bug-kun: Getting furry in the FROW at Fendi's FW16 show
The front row count at fashion week usually goes something like this: Celebrities, editors, (celebrity) buyers and, the occasional top model that's also a friend of the house. Shaking things up this season at the Fendi show — which wrapped up two hours ago — are Piro-chan and Bug-kun, the first ever furry duo to make it to the FROW.
Marrying Fendi's love for furry friends and the Japanese concept of Kigurumi (mascot performers), creative director for accessories Silvia Venturini Fendi gives life to the Italian house's latest bag-charm characters. Speaking about her inspiration for this unusual appearance, Silvia Venturini Fendi explained: "Japanese pop culture and the Kigurumi-mania gave me the idea of having two Fendi mascots to attend our events, shows, openings...". Their itinerary for the next two days? Chaperone duties at the brand's re-see and a selfie session at the flagship boutique. Fendi is sure keeping them busy.
For the rest of us who are not at Milan Fashion Week, meet Piro-chan and Bug-kun on Fendi.com instead. They are now shoppable online, helping to turn your 2jours and By The Ways into an immense ball of fun.
