The allure of couture is unsurprising — that’s why this London-based label is making it wallet-friendly and bringing it to our shores
Couture wear with ready-to-wear prices? You heard that right. Marking the democratisation of couture, online fashion platform Couturíssimo will be bringing its autumn/winter 2016 collection to Takashimaya’s ladies department. Priced between $139 and $869, shoppers can find exactly what you’d expect from couture — ornate detailing, premium textiles, and immaculate craftsmanship.
“I thought it was a great idea because I really believe fashion has to evolve. We need to do something to change where the couture industry currently is – and it’s a model that some ‘fashion insiders’ say isn’t working as well as it could be anymore,” says Dubai-based Filipino couturier Michael Cinco.
Straight off the runways of Paris Couture Week, customers can look forward to exquisitely crafted pieces by the likes of Parisian label On Aura Tout Vu, Filipino couturier Michael Cinco, Korean designer Songzio, and Indonesian brand Sebastian Gunawan. Maintaining the top-notch standards of couture wear, the designers focused on finding that sweet spot that ensures optimum quality and production time — making sure you don't break the bank.
Couturíssimo's new pop-up store is located at Takashimaya Department Store, Level 3.
