Collection review: Exhibit x Alt fall/winter 2015

Clean and minimalist

Collection review: Exhibit x Alt fall/winter 2015
Sleek and sophisticated, designer and style influencer Yoyo Cao’s monochrome collection was anything but subdued

If there were two words to describe Exhibit x Alt's fall/winter 2015 collection, it would have to be: Sartorial success. Presenting a black and white collection (down to the shoes), style icon and L'Officiel Singapore ambassador Yoyo Cao crafted looks with a whole lot of street-style cred. In short, it was apparel designed to attract the attention of photographers from the likes of Tommy Ton and Scott Schuman.

From her signature skinny flare trousers to tunics and off-shoulder maxi dresses, every piece was relatively simple; but it was the tailoring that drew us in. Short or long, the cuts and silhouettes were made to fit even the most petite girls like Cao herself. Mixing various textures for a luxe effect, sleeveless kimono-styled jackets or tunics worn with unlined mesh midi skirts lent flair to conservative pieces.

Their second showcase together, it was Cao's rich layering and Alt's (helmed by Angie Lai-Tay) warrior-esque arm cuffs and armour rings that elevated the clean and minimalist collection. Cao's immaculate styling skills and attention to detail makes her an up-and-coming designer to watch
