Bottega Veneta recently unveiled its newly revamped store at Takashimaya to great fanfare. Spanning 130 square metres, the boutique now carries a wider range of offerings, which includes handbags, accessories, shoes, luggage and fragrances. But the key highlight of the store reopening will be an accompanying retrospective exhibition that pays homage to one of the icons of the house — The Knot.

Revived by creative director Tomas Maier in 2001, the rounded box clutch with its signature closure has been a mainstay in every Bottega Veneta collection since. The travelling exhibition will explore the various incarnations of the eveningwear staple: From the lavishly crystal-embellished to the minimalist luxe croc leather woven in the house's discreet intrecciato pattern. Over 100 versions of The Knot will be exhibited at the Takashimaya store, with both rare archival and current pieces displayed side by side. Here, we give you an exclusive peek at some of the pieces going on display.

The Knot: A Retrospective will run from 31 July to 2 August 2015 at Bottega Veneta, Takashimaya Department Store, Level 2.
