The CFDA Awards always guarantees the best dressed attendees (aside from the Met Gala) and this year does not disappoint. The inimitable Diane von Furstenberg looked regal in a floor-length print dress, and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe went the bohemian route with her custom macramé dress and OTT accessories, while Kim Kardashian made her first appearance since her second pregnancy announcement in a fierce Proenza Schouler number that was equal parts rock and chic.

The model contingent was not short of stunners too: Liya Kebede incited red carpet envy with her Altuzarra resort 2016 frock, Gigi Hadid glowed in a gold Michael Kors pantsuit, Lily Aldridge showed off some serious leg in Thakoon, and Karlie Kloss rocked a Diane von Furstenburg polka-dot dress.

This was also one of those rare occasions where Janelle Monae wore something other than a pantsuit — she chose a beautifully embroidered white and gold cape that cemented her as a serious style player. The colour red was also a running theme on the carpet this year with Diane Kruger and Natasha Poly opting for fiery hues that made sure they stood head and heels (literally) above the rest.
