Calling upon the expertise of Cambodian silk weavers, the Swiss luxury house teams up with French NGO Soieries du Mékong for 500 special edition silk scarves. These weavers are women from some of Cambodia’s poorest rural areas, trained in silk weaving to create a sustainable employment for themselves. A silk craftswoman measures and dyes each silk strand before she starts weaving. The scarf is then finished by hand, taking up to 40 hours to complete each piece.
In classic shades of blushing pink to warm mustard, pick from two styles of large gingham square and a small gingham muffler. A Bally signature, handmade tassels top off the four corners of the scarf. With each purchase, comes a tag detailing its origin and details of creation — a reminder to do your part in empowering women and changing their lives for the better.
The Bally x Soiries du Mékong special edition scarves are available at Bally boutiques and online.
