Dior Homme introduces a new line of leather accessories for Winter 2015, and the logo proves to be its pièce de résistance. Blue and red heat-embossed signatures of Christian Dior himself are tucked tastefully in the corners of briefcases, wallets and cardholders made of black and burgundy calfskin.
Kris Van Assche's homages to Dior and the Maison's heritage is known to take on a whim of playfulness at times, and subtle artistry at others. Remember the lily of the valley — Dior's favourite flower — embroidered right above the pocket on one of his pinstripe suit jackets for fall/winter 2014? A play on the corsage and a tribute at the same time, Van Assche's creativity knows no bounds.
As the brand's Winter leather accessories are enlivened by the latest incarnation of his innovation, will the original logo retain its classic appeal, or come across as staid to some?
