This season, menswear designer Kris van Assche took a trip down memory lane and returned with the Scottish print as Dior Homme's key motif for SS16. An icon that was initially embraced by the Duke of Windsor before it trickled down to the bourgeoisie, the contrasting diamond pattern of argyle still speaks of a relaxed elegance steeped in luxury.

Keeping the storied knits fresh with a contemporary update, the French house has given the print a treatment that's typically Dior — injecting tradition with 21st century flair. In this case, camo prints and striking monochrome colourways sit on the crewneck jumpers, designed to be picked up by the modern gentleman with a keen eye for old-world luxury.
