You know you've met a Singaporean when... they start trying to narrow down which Junior College you went to.

My fondest memory from the last five decades is... when I first visited Singapore during Christmas in 1985 and sat on Santa's lap for a Polaroid at Metro. I still have that Polaroid.

I wish Singapore would bring back... Mr. Softee.

I'm not Singaporean, but I really love to complain about... Singaporeans' driving skills.

Singaporeans should stop complaining about... distance.

The most underrated thing about Singapore is... the Khiam Teck toy shop in Holland Village.

Every time I return back to this island, I appreciate... the jolts from the taxi ride or airport car park fees.

The cost of the country's progress... is a trade-off that should involve more consensus.

The one local dish I would pay any amount for is... fish soup with the right density of milk.

In 10 years time, I would like to see Singapore... show more of its patina.

Singapore is uniquely... positioned to fight against the trappings of it's own success.

Durian: Bitter or sweet?... Bittersweet.
