Milan Fashion Week SS16: DSquared2
The inspiration: Dan and Dean Caten's spring/summer 2016 collection was a kaleidoscopic return to the beach (more specifically, the American West Coast) as marked by neon brights, graphic mirrored prints and body-con dresses.
Model mayhem: Caroline Trentini sported a black cutout swimsuit harnessed with bright climbing rope reimagined as body jewellery (look 4); Alessandra Ambrosio strutted out in a multi-coloured bandage dress with a pleated chiffon maxi billowing from her waist (look 9); and raven-haired Jamie Bochert paraded a double-zip tube dress in vivid coral print finished with a choker in the style of a floral Hawaiian lei (look 29).
Something you might have missed: The skin-tight tattoo bodysuits layered under black and cream leather bandage dresses as a nod to, and continuation from, the men's SS16 collection.
Favourite look: In a show replete with eye-catching ensembles, it was hard to single-out a favourite, but Trentini's closing look was a creative melange of the collection's best elements — bejewelled bikini top layered under a blue sequined halter-neck top matched with a dramatic green maxi skirt and, for an extra touch of insouciance, a canary yellow fur jacket worn casually off the shoulders.
Buro loves: The layering of cutout maillots in different styles and contrast colours. I know what you're thinking: What about the tan lines? #ThatsFashion
