The inspiration: Daring grace. That was the title of the four stanza poem printed on the show notes, intended to highlight the refined charm of a woman who needs no wiles; a lady utterly at ease with herself.
Leitmotif: For designer Izumi Ogino, this season was all about cutting through solids. Harlequin patterns, lattice netting and geometric prints contrasted with sheer fabric showed ample skin, but not in the way you'd expect. The season's leitmotif was judiciously applied to sweeping dresses, skirts and flared culottes that stopped short of being overly provocative.
Favourite accessory: The inverted flower stalk earrings that also made an appearance back in New York at Carolina Herrera. Sweet or crafty, the power is in the wearer's hands.
I spy: Yet more florals, creeping under semi-sheer jumpers (look 23) and on the hems of dresses (look 3).
Something you might have missed: Painterly heeled sandals with bold brush strokes in aqua (look 22) complemented the swipe of cornflower blue eyeshadow on the otherwise bare faces of the models.
