Kris Van Assche's Dior boy was perhaps a late bloomer, confined in the shadow of his predecessor for seasons until he finally came of age: This new wave and subculture-centric young gentleman in an uptown versus downtown aesthetic, as dreamed up by the Artistic Director. "I imagine this boy at a fairground, almost as if in a gallery," he says of his spring/summer 2017 Dior Homme persona. Van Assche goes on to elucidate that his collection is a hybrid of New Wave, punk, goth, with contemporary sportswear.
