Chaerin Lee joins Alexander Wang's picks of musicians for WANGSQUAD
Some people call her the Beyoncé of K-pop music — well, this South Korean Queen is about to get even bigger.
Chaerin Lee's part of Alexander Wang's lineup of models and musicians whose faces have just been released on @wangsquad, a new Instagram account which details teasers to the designer's Spring/Summer 2016 show. CL's (as she's widely known) inclusion into the list doesn't come as a surprise. Wang's one of her fashion-forward friends — which includes Moschino's Jeremy Scott — whom she's been a loyal supporter of.
The timing couldn't be better — the 24-year-old will also be releasing her debut US solo album sometime this year. Her US manager? None other than Scooter Braun, who also manages pop powerhouses Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
#WANGSS16: Coming soon. @alexanderwangny Song: @baauer, Day Ones @travisscott, @annaewers, @chaelincl, @luicenmracsitmh, @stellaluciadeopito, @yawnjohn, @hannegabysees, @molllsbair, @isabellaemmack, @peyton.knight, @kaiagerber, @6bubbles6erotica6, @ddiegovillarreal, @_alice_glass, @issalien, @baauer, @alunageorge, @ilovemakonnen, @binxwalton, @lexiboling, @vicmensa
In Wang's Polaroid series, Lee appears with her signature smoky-lined eyes, granny-chic tresses and urban ware. Music's other names include hiphop artists Travi$ Scott and Makonnen, former Crystal Castles vocalist Alice Glass, trap producer Baauer and one-half of electronic duo AlunaGeorge, Aluna Francis. There's a notably street-savvy edge to his picks, which mirrors the designer's aesthetic. Stay tuned for more from this exciting collaboration.
