Fire aerials and performances, ventriloquist dolls fashioning as dead celebrities and drag queen flamboyance — evenings in August are about to get interesting.
The Singapore Night Festival returns promising glitter, glamour and fabulousness over two weekends. You might already be familiar with the outdoor light installations synonymous with the festival, but this time, they're back with a host of new collaborators. Introducing House of Glamour, the compound opposite The Cathay will host ticketed shows that will attract a new legion of followers. If you're a fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, The Improv Company will take the interactive, quick-witted nature of the genre to an intimate crowd.
If puppetry's your thing, local ventriloquists Joseph Then and Shaun Chua bring in some wicked fun in miniature doses. Puppetry maestro Frankie Malachi will also entertain with his act on former stars, and we hope to recognise the Jolie-Pitts in some of them. Other names to catch include glam rock outfit Tiramisu and drag queens Becca D'bus and Kumar. From the looks of it, Singapore's turning into the city that never sleeps — and we're all for it.
The Singapore Night Festival 2015 takes place on 21 and 22 August, and 28 and 29 August. More details here.
