Social media scoop: Blue Ivy at the VMAs, a dog cafe opens and Stranger Things gets a second season
This week's buzz
1. New furry friends
Move aside, you feline fanciers. A dog petting café has just opened in Bugis allowing you to cuddle, hug and basically enjoy some TLC with domestic animals who wouldn't play mind games with you.
2. Farewell, Marc Riboud
The French photojournalist and protégé of Henri Cartier-Bresson passed away in Paris on Tuesday, leaving behind a legacy which included some of the most iconic portraits of society from the '50s to today.
3. Kenzo's crazy eyes
Talk about crazy eyes. Kenzo employed filmmaker and director Spike Jonze for their latest video campaign, channeling some Christopher Walken-esque moves in Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice video, also directed by Jonze.
Hey Internet: Where's the dueling Christopher Walken vs. Margaret Qualey #SpikeJonze mashup? Bring it on! I know someone's already made it..— Tanya Goldman (@tangoldman) September 1, 2016
4. The other Smiths
Pharrell interviews Jaden and Willow Smith for the September 2016 cover story of Interview magazine.
5. Keeping up with Kylie Jenner
Can't stop, won't stop — the youngest Jenner releases more lippies and eyeshadows to add to your growing collection.
6. Singing the blues
After rightfully claiming back her stage at the MTV Video Music Awards 2016 on Sunday, Britney Spears treated her 10-year-old son Sean Preston to some blue shades.
7. Blue Ivy parades around her would-be kingdom
Bow down, peasants. Beyoncé attended the VMAs with little Blue Ivy in tow, who didn't seem particularly pleased to be in such a spotlight. It didn't stop her looking fierce though...Sasha Fierce.
8. Kim gets cosy with the music crowd
It seems like Kim Kardashian married into the right family, industry-wise. She's seen schmoozing with the likes of r&b and hiphop musicians Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and P. Diddy.
9. Making a statement
The Internet took sides when Alicia Keys showed up at the VMAs makeup-free, with both praise and insults hurled at the musician. Some opinion eds later, Keys took to Twitter to make yet another statement.
Y'all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn't mean I'm anti-makeup. Do you! pic.twitter.com/Mg0Ug9YA9q— Alicia Keys (@aliciakeys) August 29, 2016
10. Things are about to get stranger
Fans of Netflix's Stranger Things rejoiced at the announcement of its second season, which will debut in 2017 with nine episodes. Particularly elated were the child stars in the Winona Ryder-led series.
