Cats, horses and dogs — there's much to love about Theodora's debut music video. But amid these cute and clickbait-worthy factors (we all know cats are, well, catnip to the internet), the portrayal of animals seeks to allude a different symbolism altogether. Filmed at Noah's Ark Natural Animal Sanctuary (NANAS), a private animal shelter in Johor Bahru that houses abandoned and retired animals, the setting echoes the comtemplative mood of remembrance surrounding Lines.

If you haven't heard of Theodora, you will now. The 18-year old has just released her first single and video after a few years of building her profile via Youtube and appearances in venues such as Esplanade, TAB and the recent Baybeats Festival. Get ready to feel old — she's born the year Titanic was released. But have a listen to this budding artist, and you'll find that it's apparent age is just a number for the indie-alternative singer.

The single sets the tone for her upcoming five-song EP, which is slated for release at the end of the year. It'll be produced by Leonard Soosay, an instrumental figure who's worked with the likes of Charlie Lim, DEON and The Great Spy Experiment — it's safe to say she's in good hands.

Lines is available from today on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Rdio and KKbox. Theodora will be opening for DEON's album launch at The Substation on 10 July.
