MATTER returns with its series of blockprinting workshops in November
All hands on deck
Learn from a fifth generation blockprinting artisan from Jaipur
There's nothing quite like the delight in wearing something that tells a story, even if the world can't quite comprehend it at first glance. But we know a pair of MATTER pants when we see one — the storied fabrics used speak of generations of craftsmanship and heritage from the far-flung corners of Asia. MATTER's relationships with their artisans are what make their offerings tick, and this time, they're bringing to us one such gem from Jaipur. Returning to Singapore, Khushiram is a fifth-generation blockprinting artisan who will host two workshops in November.
Following a talk by Khushiram, workshop attendees can expect to ink their identity on a cotton silk scarf, a set of cotton pillowcases or an A5 journal. The workshops run for two hours, and will engage those particularly interested in seeing how blockprints tell a story that doesn't necessary allude to the latest trends. It's time to go offline, let your hands get dirty and make your mark.
