The streets of Singapore have been seeing red this past weekend thanks to the arrival of Jessica Chastain. In town alongside Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, the trio's on their press junket for The Huntsman: Winter's War. Starring as Sara, a warrior and love interest of the Huntsman (played by Hemsworth), the film is a prequel to Snow White and The Huntsman (2012), a grittier retelling of the Brothers Grimm favourite.
Before arriving on this side of the world, the 39-year-old was in London where she and co-star Hemsworth sat on The Graham Norton Show's red couch — the latter even amused us with a cheeky joke. The duo continued to kid around before their 13-hour flight to Singapore as "roomies" on the plane.
Upon arriving in Singapore on Saturday, Chastain and her crew (comprising of assistant Josie Callahan, celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora and publicist Nicole Perna) wasted no time in hitting all the main tourist spots: Chinatown, Little India, Gardens by the Bay and Resorts World Sentosa. The redhead was even spotted shopping at the local favourite saree shop, Haniffa, along Serangoon Road.
At the blockbuster premiere on Sunday evening, thousands of fans together with local and regional media looked on as Chastain, Hemsworth, Theron and their director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan walked down the red carpet at Hollywood Boulevard, Universal Studios in Resorts World Sentosa. Chastain wore a glitzy black dress with a plunging neckline, while the statuesque Theron opted for an icy number befitting of her role as the Evil Queen. Hemsworth proved to be the more popular of the trio, as screaming Thor fangirls (and guys alike) clambered all over one another for an autograph and selfie.
After walking the carpet, the foursome posed in front of the ice-themed entrance of the Pantages Hollywood Theatre, where the official Asia premiere of the film took place. While Resorts World Sentosa is no stranger to Hollywood's characters, this Sunday evening was their first movie premiere and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for two screen sirens and a huntsman to come alive.
