Henry Golding will be in a new thriller with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick
Going for gold
And it's by Bridesmaids director, Paul Feig
Everybody goes to Hollywood, and Henry Golding's doing it for the second time round. After wrapping up as the lead in Jon M. Chu's Crazy Rich Asians — Golding's feature film debut — in late June, the Singapore-based actor and host (and, fun fact, former hairstylist) will start shooting A Simple Favour in Toronto from 14 August. The domestic noir thriller comes with some pretty bankable names in Hollywood: Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively also star, while Paul Feig — responsible for Bridesmaids, the Ghostbusters reboot and The Heat — will direct.
Set in a small town, the story centres on the disappearance of Emily (Lively), the best friend of mommy blogger Stephanie (Kendrick). Golding fills in the role of Sean, Emily's seemingly-perfect husband, as they seek out the truth. Based on a book by Darcey Bell published in March this year, the story's premise recalls that of Gone Girl and The Girl on The Train. The book's synopsis is a chiller: "She's your best friend. She knows all your secrets. That's why she's so dangerous. A single mother's life is turned upside down when her best friend vanishes in this chilling debut thriller."
