Five things to do this weekend: 6 - 8 May
Heart and soul
MUSIC | We Love Jazz Party Vol.3 [SJ50 Edition]
Bon Goût Music by musician Aya Sekine is all about that jazz, so it's no surprise that they've teamed up with Sideshow for a jazz appreciation party. Apart from the tunes, you can enjoy treats from Jameson Whiskey, Golden X The Great Escape, Whitetree tea and Popaganda popsicles.
7 May from 5 to 11pm at kult kafé. More details here.
PARTY | Disco de Mayo
Digging on disco? Lucha Loco celebrates its Disco de Mayo party for the third time, bringing forth the best of the '80s: Glittery balls, afro wigs and good old tequila.
7 May from 10pm to late at Lucha Loco. More details here.
MUSIC | A-Go-Go Night @ Kampong Gelam!
The Malay Heritage Centre pays tribute to Singapore's '60s music scene, which gave birth to bands such as The Swallows, The Siglap Five and The Quests. For more of indie rock and roll, contemporary counterparts The Pinholes, The Voodoo Sound and Lion City Ska Jazz Ensemble will be performing.
7 and 8 May from 5 to 6.30pm at Bussorah Street.
MUSIC | Getai Soul 2016
An all-new festival that needs no introduction, this two-day event will bring forth up and coming local and regional soul musicians, with headliners including Tim De Cotta and Dru Chen.
7 to 8 May from 12 to 10.30pm at Pearl Hill's City Park. For tickets, click here.
ARTS | Sunday on the Hill
After four years of laid back fun at The Training Shed at Labrador (which had to close for redevelopment — boo), Sideshow is taking up residence at Emily Hill. Now hosted by kult kafé, the inaugural Sunday jam will feature music from Tom Shellsuit, Stew Bamrah, Mr Assin and Moodpack. Bring your kids.
8 May from 3 to 10pm at kult kafé. More details here.
