Five things to do this weekend: 13 – 15 November
ART | Affordable Art Fair
Here for its sixth edition, the Affordable Art Fair is opening their doors to prove that art is not just for snobs. Showcasing 650 artists and 86 galleries from around the world, this isn't just a place for purchasing art — in their mission to make art fun and accessible, the fair also lists wine paintings and coffee tastings in their line-up.
12 - 15 November at the F1 Pit Building. Visit their website for the full line-up.
BOOKS | Before We Are Ghosts
Following the debut Keeping Skeletons, local author Tan Lixin is back with her sophomore launch, Before We Are Ghosts. Fans of her first novel will attain closure — the second book gives you an introspective on life's inevitabilities to understand and embrace the cycle of loss and change.
13 November, 7pm at BooksActually. Click here to find out more.
PARTY | Basstock's 40th Birthday
We're not sure who Basstock is, but he's bringing together three artists for our aural pleasure on his big four-O celebration. Featuring local bands Lost Weekend, Obedient Wives Club and Tim de Cotta, this is one public birthday bash you'll want in on.
13 November, from 7.30pm at Artistry. For more details, click here.
FILM | Freedom Film Festival 2015
The annual Freedom Film Festival is back this year with screenings centred on the aptly given theme: Freedom. Film buffs will be delighted with the vast selection of inspiring local and international shorts, films and documentaries that shine the spotlight on artistic value and human rights.
14 and 15 November, from 11am to 7pm at The Projector. Click here for the festival programme.
THEATRE | Ghost the Musical
It's your last weekend to relive the Oscar-winning movie in a Broadway experience that will have you in awe and tears. With music and lyrics from Eurythmics' Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard — who worked on Michael Jackson's Man In the Mirror — you're definitely in for a spectacular evening.
14 and 15 November, selected timings at the MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands. Get your tickets here.
