Cara Delevingne to star in Luc Besson’s next film
Having made a splash in the upcoming Paper Towns, Cara Delevingne is set to play the lead in Valerian, Luc Besson’s new sci-fi venture

You've seen her on the runway, and now she's fast becoming a resident actress. Cara Delevingne will be teaming up with fellow actor Dane Dehaan as leads in Valerian, an adaptation of the graphic novel by the same name.

Delevingne is slated for the role of Laureline, the partner to Dehaan's Valerian, an agent from a futuristic Earth who can travel through space and time — classic sc-fi goodness. The model will get a chance to show off her diverse acting chops, as the role is a turnaround from her mysterious teen character in Paper Towns.

Delevingne will be acting alongside Dehaan for the first time. The latter is known for his dark roles in Kill Your Darlings and The Place Beyond the Pines.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, the film's hefty full title, will be Besson's first project after the wildly successful Lucy. Filming is set to start in December this year, and a 2017 release is on the cards.
