A new major art show, Singapore Contemporary, to launch in January 2016
Art on a new stage
To be held from 21 to 24 January 2016 at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore Contemporary hopes to appeal to the mid-level art market
There's going to be yet another platform for up-and-coming artists to shine.
To add to the week-long activities, exhibits and fringe events associated with Art Stage Singapore next year, Singapore Contemporary will target the mid-tier art market, showcasing works in the $10,000 to $100,000 range.
As with contemporary works, expect to see diverse mediums from paintings and sculpture to photography and digital art. Because of its mid-tier range, it's a great chance to be acquainted with both emerging as well as mid-career artists.
For its inaugural show, Singapore Contemporary will debut two special art projects: Artist Dialogues and China Encounters. The former will allow for conversations between collectors, buyers and artists, while the latter will feature emerging artists from China.
Organised by the same guys behind the Asia Contemporary Art Show in Hong Kong, exhibitor applications will be open on 6 July. Download the form here to find out more information.
