Take a trip with Tall Black Guy (a.k.a. Terrel Wallace) this week before welcoming the producer this weekend at the return of Sunday at the Shed
Beats and beers pretty much form two major components of a well-lived Sunday. With Sideshow's return of the family-friendly party series Sunday at the Shed, you can expect just that. For their homecoming, they're bringing Tall Black Guy (a.k.a. Terrel Wallace), the beat-maker and sound-manipulator whose recent release in 2016 is your go-to anthem for lazy weekends.
The Detroit-born, Chicago-raised and UK-based producer has upped his collaborations, included more live instrumentation and jazz elements in his second full-length album, Let's Take a Trip. A follow-up to his debut, 8 Miles to Moenart in 2013, the 13-track album is born out of a dream Wallace had while he was on a train. Taking train samples, his mellow and layered sample-based sound is encapsulated into an album that pretty much sums up a journey for the producer with a standard set-up of a Sony (Sonic Foundry) 7.0 and a MIDI controller.
Supporting Tall Black Guy are Aaron DRM from Bastard Jazz Recordings and Sideshow DJs Shellsuit and Stew. Listen to Tall Black Guy below, and see you this Sunday.
